Jason Miller of Lance Creek, WY can be a rebel and certainly doesn’t walk in lockstep with what his organization, the PRCA, might wish. But when it comes to wrestling steers at the national finals in an attempt to win his second gold buckle, Miller listens to people who’ve been there and done it. Ote Berry, an Oklahoman who came on the pro rodeo scene out of Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington in the 1980s, won the world four times from 1985-95. That’s a man whose words mean something to Jason Miller:

Miller was top dogger in Thursday’s eighth round with a time of 3.9 seconds. He’s been on Jessie for three go-round wins earning more than $78K at the national finals. Miller prefers not to talk about the numbers so we won’t either. Suffice to say all signs point toward a very exciting finish.
Welsh Stays Up
Bobby Welsh of Gillette had a firm seat on a Wyoming bull owned by Powder River Rodeo Co. Thursday night and the 82.5 point score was good enough for fourth place and $7,500:
