Glause Moves On

Team Wyoming bull rider Seth Glause is one of the leading money winners so far at the monster show known as Rodeo Houston. Riders, ropers, and doggers are competing in numerous “Super Series” and in #3 Glause and Gillette’s Bobby Welsh qualified for the semi-finals that will open next week.

It’s a long rodeo to be sure. Seth is an all-around cowboy and begins his work in the saddle bronc riding event tonight. He’ll have three tries there to make the semis. So far Welsh and Glause, who lives in Cheyenne when not on the road, are the only Team Wyoming cowboys to advance. We spoke with Seth today about his two successful Houston outings. Last night he was on a Burch Rodeo Co. (Rozet,WY) bull called “Pop Tart”:

Glause’ Houston money stands at $6,200.

Welsh Gets Gated

Bobby Welsh won it all in Houston last year and by making his eight-second stint successfully last night he slid into a semi-finals slot to live to ride again. His trip on Burch Rodeo’s “Three Drinks Please” was quite unsettling at the end:

Welsh’ $1,450 ride was enough to send him on to the next Rodeo Houston bracket. He’s up again Wednesday night.
