Miller’s Good Run

A solid 8.7 second steer wrestling run in the morning slack competition at Frontier Park has Team Wyoming’s Jason Miller in a good spot to collect second-go cash. The Lance Creek, WY dogger is in fifth place and will await Saturday afternoon performance results before knowing where he’ll end up. The Friday morning run, with pal Les Shepperson on the hazing side, was smooth:

Miller will be hard to miss going down the rodeo road this next year. He has a new sponsor with strong Wyoming ties:

We expect to work jointly with Admiral Beverage/Mountain Dew to make the Jason Miller connection with our Wyoming tourism effort even stronger.

Friday Cowboys

Team Wyoming cowboys working at the Friday afternoon performance of “The Daddy” include Kanin Asay from Powell in bull riding and Casper’s Jhett Johnson team roping. Johnson is the reigning world champion heeler. His partner catching the horns is Jake Barnes.

Asay is in tremendous shape to once again make an appearance at the national finals. He is currently #3 in the world standings having earned about $67,500 so far in 2012. A few of the bull riders nipping at Asay’s heels have already scored big in Cheyenne so a determined Kanin will be bursting out of the chute gate this afternoon comfortable in the knowledge that his closest buddy – Dusty Tuckness from Meeteetse – is now one third of the cowboy protection bullfighting team at CFD.
